Amazons are 3rd in the Nation
For the 2nd year in a row, the Sacramento Amazons U19 team placed 3rd at the USA Rugby Girls Under 19 National Championships sponsored by the National Guard. With many of our players returning next year, we look forward to improving our ranking.
Some of the girls with Pittsburgh Steeler Chris Kemoeatu. Big thanks to him and his brother Ben for coming out and supporting our girls!

Pacific Coast Champions!
Next up....Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for the 2009 USA Rugby National Championships.
The Amazons defeated the Kent Crusaders of Washington on Sunday, May 3rd by a score of 29 to 10. Kent survived on the previous day against Northern California's Motherlode team, 5 to 0.
Kent scored a try in the first 10 minutes to take a 5 to nil lead against the Amazons. The Amazons answered back with a converted try to make it 7 to 5. Kent looked determined and came back to score another try. With the score at 10 to 7, the Amazons scored another try before the half to make the score 12 to 10 at the half. The Amazons simply pulled away in the second half. Overall, Kent could not match the physical play of the Amazons.
The Amazons now have less than 2 weeks to prepare for Nationals where they will face off against the Fullerton Lions of Southern California.
